For those who never saw the rhyming slogans of the Burma Shave signs, here is a quick lesson in our American history.
Before Interstates, when everyone drove the scenic 2 lane roads, Burma Shave signs would be posted all over the countryside. They would be seen in farmers' fields or tacked on fence row posts from mid 1920s thru the early 1960's when their placement by the company ended. However, they endured along roadsides many years thereafter before eventually disappearing completely. (Who knows... there may still be some out there!)
They were small red signs with white lettering, five or six signs, some 100 or so feet apart, each containing 1 line of 4 or 5, and the obligatory last sign advertising Burma Shave, a popular shaving cream.
